Let’s talk about skin.
I’ve always said that I was determined to age gracefully, not so much in appearance (though I would hope for that too), but more so in mentality. I wanted to embrace the natural course of aging and take pride in my smile crinkles and laugh lines.
But hey, that doesn’t mean I can’t try and slow down the process, right? You might be thinking to yourself, why would I need to worry about anti-aging stuff in my 20’s…folks, this is the BEST time to start worrying about it. Be proactive! Early bird gets the…err…smooth skin? Prevention and maintenance is a lot easier than remediation. Sunscreen (healthy, toxin free ones like this one), flamboyantly floppy hats, and good skin care are a must.
But wait, not all skin-care products are equal. Did you know that the majority of anti-aging products have AWFUL ingredients in them? And some of them even cause MORE damage to your skin. And I’m not even talking about avoiding the cheap stuff…because the expensive stuff can be just as bad. For example, many companies use Vitamin C to combat the signs of aging. Vitamin C is great at this, but some forms of it, like ascorbyl palmitate , can actually be very harmful to your skin when exposed to UV rays…so basically, if you ever go outside. (Check your skin care products, even sunscreen, for this hidden foe…and if you find it, toss it!)
I’ll stick to wrinkles, thanks.
Ok, not really….it doesn’t have to be an either/or thing. I came across this fab.YOU.lous natural skincare line called Mad Hippie featuring natural anti-aging products. The name itself makes me kind of giddie, because I’m a hippie at heart when it comes to skincare stuff (example: mud was the only thing I put on my face during pregnancy).
I’d heard all this buzz about their natural anti-aging products anti-aging Vitamin C Serum , and while I couldn’t find any mention of the bad palmitate kind in their ingredients list, I emailed them just to make sure. They promptly emailed me back and assured me that they use a stable and safe version of Vitamin C called Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and offered to send me a bottle of their Vitamin C Serum
and their Antioxidant Facial Oil to review
…and my hippie heart said yes please!
Y’aaaallll…I loooove this stuff!
They said in the email that it would take about a month to see results. WRONG! I literally saw improvements within a few days. My skin was clearer and felt smoother…and every day it keeps getting better and better. And after a month? Well, this is the best my skin has looked and felt in a long time.
My routine is simple (you can do this morning and night, but I only do it at night because I’m just not good at mornings):
1)Wash and gently dry my face
2) Combine 5 drops of the Vitamin C serum and 3 drops of the oil in my hand
3)Gently (very gently! don’t be rough on your skin) spread on my face and neck area
Here are all the reasons I love my Mad Hippie Skincare products:
- CHEAP! Y’all, really, natural anti-aging products can cost a fortune. But Mad Hippie…did you make a mistake? So little money for such a great product?
- Safe and natural ingredients and the serum doesn’t use any Ascorbyl Palmitate
- Goes on really smoothly
- I can FEEL it working…literally minutes after I apply the serum, I feel it tightening (without drying)
- The Antioxidant Facial Oil is chock-full of awesome anti-oxidant ingredients. Check out this list…kinda makes you hungry, right?
- The facial oil moisturizes without making my skin break out (like basically everything else does, even plain old coconut oil)
BONUS!!! My skin is clearer. Apparently, Vitamin C can also help fight acne. My acne is mild, but I kinda feel like at this age, I shouldn’t have any, amiright? Natural anti-aging products that also clear up your skin…hip hip hooray!
Anyway, I love this stuff and I’ve already been eying their other products to see what else I want to try. I’m thinking I’ll buy this Exfoliating Serum next…*sigh*, because baby soft skin isn’t a given any more.
So a natural anti-aging products that also clear up your skin? Forget Mad Hippie, I’m a HAPPY Hippie! And you can be too…because it’s giveaway time!
