.) I went to church for the first time since Elle was born (2 months ago). It was so good to be in community again, but I was on the verge of panic pretty much the whole time…terrified of the germs I was exposing my little baby to. I missed most of the sermon because I spent the whole time mentally cataloging who was coughing, sneezing, or sniffling so I could make sure to avoid them after the service…how’s that for fellowship?
.) Since I actually ventured into public, I thought it would be a good idea to put some effort into my appearance. Y’all, easiest hair style ever. I did it before I went to bed (in all of 1 minute), unrolled it in the morning, and it looked like this. I think I’ll have to post a tutorial on this!
.) I may have moved to the South, but I’m no hillbilly. I finally was able to get my front tooth fixed. I chipped it while I was pregnant, but didn’t feel comfortable getting any unnecessary dental work done until after giving birth. That picture of me above? That’s how I’ve been smiling for the past 4 months.
.) I also had a follow-up midwife appointment this week…so many warm and fuzzies. I carry such deep feelings of appreciation and kinship towards the the woman (or women, because I feel the same way about my doula) that helped bring my darling Elle into this world.
.) The other day, Jay asked me why sister has a big butt. Cloth diapers, kid. And don’t ever let her hear you say that when she’s older.
.) Speaking of sister, I just can’t even.
